Against my better judgement, I attended my double's party. I believe it was in the honor of a guy who talked to snakes, but I can't say I'd ever heard of the holiday before. Nevertheless, I do enjoy learning about new cultures.

It was nice to see Senator Amidala outside of the Senate Arena. It reminds me of the days I spent as her Senator, when Naboo, and the galaxy, was at peace. I do hope I'll see peace in my lifetime. I cannot bear the thought of dying while the galaxy is at war.

And young Skywalker, always a pleasure to see him. It's my fondest wish that the Council will recongise his power and grant the boy more leeway to serve the Republic.

As for my double, his tastes leave much to be desired. I had thought he could do no worse than his fondness for very dilute fermented grain, but apparently one can add green dye to the mix as well. The drink seems so... plebian.

My meeting with the Commerce Guild was uneventful. I wish to reassure the Republic that a diplomatic solution to the war is being pursued. However, the demands of the Separatists are currently unreasonable. I will not make concessions to terrorists, especially when they continue to spread their plague across the galaxy. We must remain strong in the face of adversity. We must continue this war, as long as it may take, in order to preserve democracy, and to preserve the Republic.

In times of war, sacrifices must be made. Those who give their lives in the service of the Republic will be immortalized in history as the liberators of the galaxy. Let us all have a moment of silence for the great Jedi Master Kenobi, recently fallen. A great blow has been dealt to the Republic, but we shall not surrender. We will continue to fight for peace, for democracy, our fallen brethren, and the Galactic Republic.

Master Yoda, I do not expect my daily briefings to come to an end simply because there's an abundance of clones on Coruscant. The Senate cannot conduct this war on old information, as I'm sure you are aware. Although I value the clone intelligence, I appreciate the input from the Jedi as well.
